TUBA CITY, Ariz. -- Northern Arizona tribal outreach was critical to electing Democrats to statewide offices in Arizona in 2022, and turning Arizona Blue in the 2020 Presidential election.
This get out the Native vote effort continues in 2024 through the work of Northeast Arizona Native Democrats, an independent grassroots campaign working in rural and tribal communities on Navajo, Hopi and the White Mountain and San Carlos Apache Tribal Nations.
Several upcoming events including the 76th Annual Navajo Nation Fair will feature a highly visible billboard messaging truck encouraging the Native community to register and vote.
The rolling ad campaign is being provided by The Democratic Messaging Project, a grassroots political action committee working in four key battleground states including Arizona.
Native community cookouts and voter registration events will be held on the following dates:
Tuba City Flea Market, Tuba City, Sept. 3, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Kayenta Recreation Park, Kayenta, Sept. 4, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Navajo Technical University, Chinle, Sept. 5, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Navajo Nation Zoo, Window Rock, Sept. 6, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The rolling billboard truck will also be featured in the 76th Annual Navajo Nation Parade starting at 8 a.m. on Sat, Sept., 7 in Window Rock.
“The power is your voice and your vote” according to Loren Marshall, Director Northeast Arizona Native Democrats. “We are providing a vital grassroots program that undeniably helps Native voices be heard at the ballot box and across Arizona’s political landscape.”
The Northeast Arizona Native Democrats is a coalition of the Navajo, Apache, Coconino, and Gila County Democratic Committees and is being supported by The Democratic Messaging Project.
